I’m afraid.
Afraid that once I’m married, my best friend won’t be able to come on the road with me. I’m afraid that we’re constantly gone and that I might have to leave her each time I leave to travel. I’m afraid that we’ll enter that grand and beautiful chapter in our lives of experiencing love and marriage for the first time and not even be together. I’m afraid that the ache from being away from her will be too great to bear.

These are the things I’m afraid of…

I hope that God will provide for us. I hope that this situation will be used to glorify His name. I hope that in all circumstances we will give praise and thanksgiving. I hope that if we ask for bread, we will not receive a stone or if we ask for a fish, that we would not receive a snake. I hope that the Lord prepares our hearts for the will that He has for our lives.

These are the things I hope for…

I’m hopeful.

“Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”
